A fire broke out at a pearl manufacturing unit in Maharashtra`s Thane district on Monday morning, civic officials said, reported news agency PTI.
No one was injured in the blaze, Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation`s disaster management cell chief Sakhib Kharbe said, reported PTI.
The fire broke out at 5.30 am in the unit located at the Rafique compound on Kalyan Road in the Bhiwandi area. After being alerted, a fire engine was rushed to the spot, he said, reported PTI.
Fire-fighting was still on, the official said.
The cause of the blaze was not yet known, he added.
Moving car catches fire in Kandivli, no injuries
In another incident, A moving car caught fire on a busy stretch on the Western Express Highway (WEH) in Kandivli area of Mumbai on Sunday night, affecting the traffic movement, an official said, reported news agency PTI.
Nobody was injured in the incident, a Fire Brigade official said without elaborating.
He said only the driver of the car was in the vehicle at the time of the incident, reported PTI.
The fire has been doused, he said.
“The incident led to a massive traffic snarl on the highway for some time”, he added, reported PTI.
Fire in illegal godown of chemical drums; no injuries
In another incident, a fire broke out in an illegal godown of chemical drums along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Haloli village of Palghar district on Sunday afternoon, officials said, reported PTI.
Nobody was injured, District Disaster Management officer Vivekanand Kadam told PTI, adding that the fire was confined to an open space.
The blaze erupted at 4:30 PM and was doused after 45 minutes, he said, adding that cooling operations are underway.
Fire at LED unit in Palghar doused; no one hurt
Meanwhile, a fire that broke out at an LED manufacturing unit in Waliv in Palghar was doused early Saturday morning after several hours, a civic official said, adding no one was hurt in the incident, reported PTI.
The blaze started at 11:30 pm on Friday, the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) fire department official said, reported PTI.
“There were only two security guards at the site. They, however, promptly alerted VVMC, after which three fire engines were deployed for dousing operations. The blaze was put out after several hours this morning. No one was hurt but goods and machinery worth several lakh rupees has been gutted,” he said, reported PTI.
A probe into the cause of the fire is underway, the official added.
