When Mastiii 4 came Elnaaz Norouzi’s way, she almost turned it down. The actor wasn’t keen to front an instalment of a sex comedy franchise known for its raunchy humour. But a narration with director Milap Zaveri changed her decision about the Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani-starrer. “When Milap narrated the script to me, I realised how well it is written for 2025. The women had so much more to do, and it felt like an equal script to me. I also felt it had a good message at the end and was not like the other instalments,” recalls the actor.

Sex comedies are often criticised for how they portray women. Norouzi says that she ensured the depiction of women was not disrespectful. “The women in the film are portrayed as careless, but not in any other way. In fact, they are depicted as quite smart. What made me comfortable was the way the script was,” she shares, adding that she also had a say in the costumes. “We spoke a lot with Milap. We made sure the costumes were not vulgar. We paid heed to that as we wanted it to look graceful.”
The actor, seen in Sacred Games and Kandahar (2023), notes that she would like to change one stereotype about sex comedies. “Such films don’t only have to be about men, it can be about women as well. That’s exactly what Mastiii 4 shows.”
