In a significant move for India’s print and digital news industry, the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) has nominated Shailesh Gupta, director, Jagran Prakashan Ltd., as its official representative on the Board of WAN-IFRA, the global organisation for news publishers. The decision was taken during the 661st Executive Committee Meeting of the INS, held on November 6.
About the nomination
According to a communication issued after the meeting, the President of INS approved the nomination of Shailesh Gupta, director, Jagran Prakashan Ltd., and mid-day Multimedia Ltd., to represent the Society on the board of WAN-IFRA. Gupta has previously served INS in various capacities and is known for his extensive experience in print media, advertising, and industry policy advocacy.
