In a significant move to strengthen Shiv Sena’s grassroots presence in rural areas, prominent farmer leaders have joined Shiv Sena.
Taking to social media, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said leaders Ramchandra Rajubhau Shete Patil, President of Dharmaveer Sambhajiraje Yuva Pratishthan and head of the Rahuri Taluka Farmers Development Board, and numerous other supporters joined the Shiv Sena on Wednesday.
Shete Patil, a farmer leader who is known for securing justice for farmers, was warmly welcomed into the party fold in the presence of various senior leaders. Similarly, Arjun Salgar from Tuljapur taluka, along with his large team of associates, also joined the Shiv Sena during the event, pledging full support to the party’s vision and leadership.
Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, while posting on his social media platform X, wrote, “On this occasion, all of them were welcomed into the party, and best wishes were extended for their future journey.”

Eknath Shinde further added that, further strengthening the Sena cadre, several noted personalities, including entrepreneur Dhanubhau Ghugarkar, entrepreneur Gyaneshwar Tekale, Adv. Bhausahib Pawar, Umesh Khilari, Sarpanch Chandrakant Adhav, Deputy Sarpanch Subhash Jundare, and others such as Shyam Todmal, Sandeep Adhav, Yogesh Nalkar, Adv. Chandrashekhar Shetake, Sandeep Borude, Sandeep Thopate, Balasahib Wag, and Akash Harde, also joined the party.
Highlighting the occasion, Eknath Shinde wrote, “The induction ceremony was attended by several senior leaders, including Shiv Sena Secretary Ram Repale, Minister Pratap Sarnaik, former MLA Rajan Salvi, party spokesperson Sanjeev Bhor Patil, district chief Babusheth Tirwale, taluka chief Devendra Lamba, and Yuva Sena taluka chief Sachin Karpe, among others.”
With several farmer leaders joining hands with the Shiv Sena, the party leaders on Wednesday further extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the new members.
In the presence of various senior leaders of Shiv Sena, the amalgamation of the farmer leader with the Shiv Sena could turn out to be a good move just before the civic polls, which are set to start on December 2.
Elections in 246 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats across Maharashtra are scheduled to take place on December 2, with counting of votes set for December 3, Maharashtra State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare announced on November 4.
