Fire erupts at cloth shop in South Mumbai; no injuries reported

In an extremely unfortunate incident, a fire broke out at a cloth shop in South Mumbai on Monday morning, civic officials said. However, no casualties were reported amid the concerning situation. 

The fire, which erupted at the cloth shop, located on Chakala Street at Memonwada, erupted at 10.51 am, the officials said.

The officials, while addressing the situation, said, “No injuries were reported to anyone in the fire,” as cited by news agency PTI. They further added that the blaze was confined to clothes and other things in the shop.

Fire in Chembur

In a different incident at Chembur, another fire incident occurred in the metropolis. Earlier, a major blaze erupted at a corporate park in Chembur, located in the eastern suburbs. However, no injuries were reported in that incident. However, as soon as the authorities were informed about the incident, the fire brigade rushed to the spot, and efforts were made to douse the blaze, the officials said.

According to the MFB, the blaze was classified as a Level II (major) fire. It originated on the second floor of the ground-plus-two-storey glass facade building and was confined to the office area spanning approximately 2,000 sq. ft. The fire affected electric wiring, installations, office furniture, records, UPS battery backup systems, false ceilings, wooden doors, and glass frames.

The fire escalated from a Level I at 1:55 am to Level II by 2:50 am before being brought under control by 4:28 am. The flames were completely extinguished by 4:33 am, and the final “fire make-up” operation was completed at 6:15 am, marking the end of the firefighting response.

Fire at automobile showroom in Mumbai; no casualty

In another incident, a fire broke out at an automobile showroom in Mumbai`s Andheri area shortly after midnight on Sunday, officials said. No injuries were reported, they said.

The blaze in the showroom located on Chandivali Farm Road in Andheri (East) was reported to the fire brigade at 12.38 am, the officials said.

Firefighting teams rushed to the spot and completely doused the blaze by 6.12 am, an official said.

“No casualty was reported in the incident,” he said, adding that the cause of the fire is not yet known.
